In the article on specific examples of Russian history in 1905-1907 and 1917, problem of correlation between revolutionary events and legal traditions is being considered. It is shown that revolutions do not always lead to the destruction of established legal traditions, although many of them undergo a certain transformation. Significance of revolutions for the formation of new legal traditions is revealed. Conclusion is made on possible restraining and innovative role of legal traditions in the period of revolutionary events.
